UAE-based artificial intelligence company CNTXT AI has announced the completion of a $60 million Series A funding round. The investment was co-led by AI71, an Abu Dhabi-based applied AI company, and BlueFive Capital, a global asset manager with roots in the Gulf Cooperation Council region. According to the company, the funding will support product development, international expansion, and the deployment of sovereign AI infrastructure for enterprise and government customers.
CNTXT AI develops data preparation services, AI infrastructure, and custom artificial intelligence solutions that allow organizations to build and deploy AI applications while maintaining control over their data. The company positions its platform around the concept of data sovereignty, enabling customers to keep sensitive information within their own infrastructure or geographic region while using AI technologies.
The company was founded by Mohammad Abu Sheikh, an entrepreneur with experience in artificial intelligence infrastructure and enterprise technology. Before launching CNTXT AI, Abu Sheikh founded LocAI, a startup that was later acquired by AI71. He also established SMPL AI, an early stage investment fund focused on artificial intelligence startups.
According to CNTXT AI, the new capital will be used to accelerate the development of its products, expand into additional international markets, and deploy secure AI infrastructure for enterprise and public sector organizations. The company said its platform supports organizations that need to develop and scale AI systems while meeting security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
CNTXT AI provides training data services, including data labeling, annotation, and validation for AI models. The company also develops custom AI applications that integrate with existing enterprise systems. Its portfolio includes technologies such as Munsit, an Arabic voice model, and TestAI, a platform for validating AI models before deployment.
The funding announcement follows another recent expansion by the company. Earlier this month, CNTXT AI completed the acquisition of Actualize, a UAE-based enterprise AI startup specializing in Arabic voice agents. The acquisition is intended to strengthen CNTXT AI’s Arabic language capabilities for enterprise and government customers across the Gulf region.
The Series A round reflects continued investment activity in sovereign AI technologies across the Middle East. Governments and large organizations have increasingly focused on AI platforms that allow data to remain under local control while supporting the deployment of advanced artificial intelligence applications. CNTXT AI said it plans to use the new funding to continue building infrastructure that supports these requirements as it expands its global presence.
